How a brand becomes unmistakably yours

Logos are the tip of the iceberg — identity is built in the hundred decisions below the surface.

Ask ten founders what branding is and nine will point at the logo. The tenth — usually the one winning — will talk about decisions: voice, motion, photography, the loading state. Identity is the sum of those choices.

Identity before logo

Start with three adjectives you want customers to feel, then audit every asset against them. The logo comes last, as a signature on decisions already made — not as a substitute for making them.

Systems beat artifacts

One beautiful business card is trivia; a system that makes the hundredth slide deck look right is strategy. Invest in type scales, colour rules and templates, and the quality sustains itself after the agency leaves.

Evolve in public

The strongest identities are maintained, not launched. Ship the refresh, gather reactions, refine quarterly. Brands are conversations, and conversations improve with listening.
